Successful people map out their future by setting clear cut goals. For example: “On May 20, 2014 I will be at my goal weight of 125”. Or, “By September 2014, I will be working as a (fill in the blank) for (fill in the blank) company.” Goals must be specific and time bound as well as reasonable. Avoid setting goals that are not realistic for your timeframe. Weight should be lost at one to two pounds per week, on average so figure that into your equation. If you don’t have the training for your ideal new job, take into consideration the time it will take for you to obtain it. Once you set your goals, visualize how it would feel to achieve them. Those powerful feelings are what propel you forward. Next, create your action steps to achieve your goals. For instance, “To arrive at my ideal weight I will eat 1200 calories and drink 32 ounces of water daily. “ Or, “To obtain my dream job I will research local universities who offer the training/education I need and will enroll by April”.
